1839 2-Piece US Artillery Plate On Its Buff Leather Belt With Its 1832 Foot Artillery Sword & Scabbard

This is a complete model 1839 2-piece US buckle on its buff leather belt with frog. The belt has soiling and age discoloration. The section that holds the frog has stitching missing in the center of the back, look at the one picture. The frog has a model 1832 foot artillery sword and scabbard attached to it and it has been there from the beginning. The rig was issued and used as can be seen in the pictures. The scabbard has a surface craze and some flaking but is solid with no breaks or bends. The sword blade has been cleaned and is grey with some old surface pitting. It is inspector & maker marked and dated 1842. The handle has some period pounding marks. It is a nice Mexican American War sword & belt rig at a good price. $2195
