Inscribed Confederate States Of America 1862 Presentation Childs History of England by Dikens. This is a Confederate soldier presented & inscribed twice 1855 Dickens book. On the first page in script ink it is inscribed Presented to Emil A Wagener. Above this is an earlier inscription which is crossed out Mifs Abby Jenkins from brother ?? Below the presentation to Emil there is an inscription in script pencil by his son Henry. Henry P. Wagener 1890- son of Emil A and Lillie Eva Pelzer Wagener. On the next fly leaf is another inscription in script black ink: Presented to Emil Wagener By his Brother Julius Wagener Esq Confederate States of America 1862. There are only two Julius Wagener's listed in the Confederate Service: Julius Wagener of the 1st Regiment, South Carolina Artillery (Militia) & Julius E. Wagener of the 8th Regiment, Texas Infantry (Hobby's). Book shows age and use wear, has several blank ripped out fly leaves, has light damage to the cover and binding, some pages have fold marks, etc. It is in solid used condition overall. It is a Confederate soldier presented book with a great inscription. $575
