Dug Connecticut state seal coat button. The front has nice gold and a brownish patina. There is a slight low spot on the right side of the banner. The reverse has a pre-1865 Scovill Mf'g Co. Waterbury RMDC backmark. The shank is bent to the side and has some original thread wrapped around its base. This button was dug in dug in a winter hut site in Stafford VA. $50
