Major Mc Kay 2nd Regt. NYV Art. Masonic w/ Union Shields 1863 Identification Ring

Rare and wonderful carved walnut indentification ring for MAJOR William A. McKay Co. I, 2nd Regiment, New York Heavy Artillery. The carving is superb with the front having the Mason's symbol inside a raised circle. On either side is a Patirotic union shield. Then carved is an arrow on one side and an olive branch on the other. It is punch id'd to MAJOR MCKAY 2d. REG. NY.V. ART. 1863. This is a fantastic officer's indentification ring for a heavy fighting New York artillery regiment. The ring is worn smooth with a perfect aged patina.
